Xenadrine EFX Review

Xenadrine EFX is a second generation natural diet supplement touting extraordinary fat loss. Promoters claim that Xenadrine EFX will significantly increase the body’s metabolic rate and use of calories. In addition, it will increase energy, enhance mental focus and acuity, provide antioxidant activity and suppress appetite. But does it work?

Cytodyne LLC, a leading manufacturer of dietary supplements, introduced the original Xenadrine four years ago and has developed the EFX formula to enhance the effectiveness of the diet pill. Their website states:

“Xenadrine EFX provides naturally derived caffeine which may increase the body’s metabolic rate and support fat burning. To receive the desired weight loss benefits of Xenadrine EFX, it should be used in conjunction with a well-balanced, calorie-controlled diet and exercise program (emphasis added). “

EFX is ephedra free, lessening the jitters that are so common with many diet pills. Active ingredients include I-tyrosine, green tea extract, phenylethylamine, yerba mate, guarana, calcium tribasic, ginger root, and grape seed extract. One promoter states that the ingredients in Xenadrine EFX may produce a lift in mood, serve as an antioxidant, help block cancer-promoting actions of carcinogens and ultraviolet light, relieve depression, and aid in sleep irregularities and joint pains.

Bodybuilding.com also cites clinical studies that show, “… participants lost up to 20 pounds of fat in only 14 days time!” Testimonials abound declaring the effectiveness of Xenadrine EFX:

“Xenadrine-EFX helped me drop 56 pounds of fat faster than I ever imagined possible. It is one amazing supplement.”-Bobby Aldridge

“Being thin and toned has gone from a dream to reality thanks to Xenadrine-EFX. I had no idea a diet supplement could be so effective.”-Sandra Holt

“Staying in top shape is almost effortless with Xenadrine-EFX.” -Hunter Tylo, Soap Opera Star and Model

“In speed skating, every ounce of fat slows you down. Xenadrine-EFX has helped me to get lean and faster than ever.” -Casey FitzRandolph, 2002 Speed Skating Gold Medallist

However, in 2005 the FTC took action against manufacturers and marketers of Xenadrine EFX. Their complaint charged misleading weight loss claims. The complaint also referred to the clinical research and testimonials from supposedly satisfied customers. The FTC challenged research done by RTC Research & Development stating that none of the several studies showed substantial weight loss. In fact, the FTC claimed that weight loss from endorsers was achieved only with a rigorous diet and/or exercise program. Further, the FTC stated that consumer endorsers were paid from $1,000 to $20,000 in connection with their testimonials.

While Xenadrine EFX remains a top seller in the diet supplement world, it appears that the real magic is in old-fashioned diet and exercise.
