A Review of Hot-Rox Extreme for Fat Loss

By Elizabeth Myers, RD

Hot Rox Extreme is a weight-loss supplement that claims to produce “5X faster fat loss than diet and exercise alone. It sells for $59.99/bottle for 110 capsules, which is rather costly given that the recommended dosage is 1-2 pills per day and that you should use it continuously for one month.

Active Ingredients and How it Works

Hot-Rox Extreme formula consists of:

  • A7-E Thermogenic Gel: enhances thyroid hormone thereby increasing fat metabolism and is made up of:
Carbolin 19: contains forskolin, which has thermogenic properties; increases metabolism
Yohimbe HCl: decreases fat mass by breaking down stored body fat
    Piperine: thermogenic properties; increases metabolism
Raspberry ketone: breaks down stored body fat
  • Guarana berry extract: contains caffeine, which has thermogenic properties that breaks down stored body fat

Product Claims vs. Scientific Evidence

What the manufacturer says about Hot-Rox Extreme:

“The power ingredient behind Hot-Rox Extreme is the same as the other versions of Hot-Rox- A7-E. A7-E is the longest acting and most effective fat-burning compound known to science. We've tested and tested and tested it. We know A7-E works and we know it keeps on working, day and night, 24/7. In fact, our latest study was the single largest research project ever conducted in sports-supplement history, with 75 subjects. And we chose the population that has the most difficult time losing body fat; middle-aged women! The results? This fat-burning supercharger; A7-E; burns fat five times faster than diet and exercise alone! No other fat-loss product; drug, supplement, or otherwise; can honestly make that claim. None! Simply put, A7-E is the master key that unlocks your thermogenic blast-furnace:”

In conclusion, there is just not enough credible scientific research done to confirm Hot-Rox Extreme’s claims. They did not specify if the “research project” was a double-blinded placebo-controlled study that provided dependable findings that were free of bias. I would assume that it was not, and thus the “testing” would not be reliable.

User Feedback

I found more positive feedback on this product than I thought I would, but I did find a lot of negative feedback as well:

“I love this product, I maintain a healthy diet and exercise but was only losing about 1/2 lb per week. This product boosted me to just over 2 lbs per week and does loads to suppress my appetite.”

“I actually didn't notice any of the stimulant effects that, supposedly, could be a bit much for people not used to thermogenics. Then again, I didn't really notice any fat-burning effects, either. Maybe it does a little something, but it's not worth paying for, in my opinion.”
